About
NOW is the time to begin your journey to a life without unwanted hair. It really is possible!
No more shaving, tweezing or waxing. No more razor burn, ingrown hairs, or irritated skin.
Unwanted hair growth can occur for many different reasons. Hormones, heredity, medication side effects, illnesses, even temporary methods of hair removal can stimulate additional growth.
Clean Slate offers you the experience of ridding yourself of this with two kinds of treatments: laser hair removal and electrolysis.
Laser Hair Removal
This is one of the most requested cosmetic procedures in the U.S. Highly concentrated light beams are pulsed into hair follicles. Melanin, or pigment in the follicle absorb the light which destroys the hair. This process takes several treatments to permanently reduce hair growth up to 70-90%. It is very beneficial in removing hair from the underarm, bikini line, chest, back, leg, face and other areas. The Light Sheer Desire laser used in this office has a Sapphire Chill Tip that cools the skin before and during treatment. This offers skin protection and patient comfort. Men and women both benefit from laser hair removal as it can treat large areas in minutes. Come in and experience great results from the laser, then follow up with electrolysis to remove any residual hair.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal and has been used for over 135 years. It can be performed on all hair and skin types. The process involves a fine filament inserted into each hair follicle, emitting either heat or an electric current to kill the germination cells that cause each hair to grow. It is a commitment for both the client and the electrologist as it can take numerous treatments to eliminate the hair growth permanently. Electrolysis can be performed in three different manners - slow thermolysis, galvanic and blend. All three are offered here at Clean Slate. Treatments are performed in a professional and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone's situation is unique and we will work together to personalize each treatment so you get the smooth and positive results you have been seeking. Call today and set up your complimentary consult. Let's work together to personalize a treatment plan for you.

FAQ
- Does Electrolysis hurt?
- Everyone has a different threshold to discomfort. Some say it feels like a quick sting, while others are able to nod off during treatment.
- How many treatments are necessary?
- This varies with each individual client. Growth cycles of hair, the texture and density of the area, certain medications and sometimes stress can affect each person's outcome. As time goes on, it becomes easier to assess the projected treatment plan.
- How safe and hygienic is the electrolysis treatment?
- All standards for Infection Control written by The American Electrology Association are followed, along with the most up to date recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). All needles used are single-use, pre-sterilized and are disposed of in the proper sharps container.
- How many laser treatments are necessary?
- Most people have permanent hair reduction after an average of 3-7 sessions. Again, everyone is different so that time frame won't be the same for all patients.
- What steps are necessary prior to laser treatments?
- Sun exposure should be avoided for 6 weeks prior to and 6 weeks post treatment. All methods of temporary hair removal such as waxing, plucking and electrolysis should be avoided for 6 weeks before treatment.
Bio
For 22 years, I have worked in the medical billing and insurance field. While my Associates Degree in Business/Medical wasn't earned in vain, it never satisfied my desire to truly assist people in a more meaningful way. In January, 2018 I graduated from the Electrology Institute of New England in Tewksbury, MA and decided to open my own office to provide this unique service within my community. I live in Hampden, MA with my wonderfully supportive husband, Steve.
